Carlton confirm Hollands fate and a shock delisting

Carlton have confirmed the expected regarding the future of Elijah Hollands, with the troubled star delisted by the club.
The 23-year-old, who has a year remaining on his contract, had been told to look at his options during the trade period but no clubs were forthcoming.
He remains available to other clubs.
According to Mitch Cleary, Hollands - along with Will White - will be considered for train-on opportunities over summer to win his spot back as a rookie.
Hollands, who arrived at Carlton on the final day of the 2023 trade period, has played 27 games across the two seasons at Ikon Park.
Carlton also confirmed that Jaxon Binns would be leaving.
“These are always difficult decisions, but after careful consideration we’ve decided this is what is best for the Club and our list strategy moving forward,” Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin said.
“We wish Jaxon all the best, and while we are not currently able to guarantee Elijah and Will a list spot for 2026, we will consider them both for train-on opportunities during the pre-season once the draft in November is completed.”
Earlier today, SEN's Kane Cornes said Hollands has more than enough ability for a club to take a chance on him, otherwise the former Pick 7 could come to regret his off-field decisions.
“Yes. He’s too good to be out of the system at 23,” he replied.
“There’s serious issues. We’ve heard his side of things, clearly Carlton see it slightly differently. I can’t remember a club being as openly frustrated at a player as what Carlton have been with him, to the point where they’re willing to move him on or shop him around.
“I hope he gets himself right. He’s too talented a player not to be playing in the AFL system. I think there’ll be some serious regret in his life down the track if he doesn’t make the most of his third opportunity.”
