SEN’s Dwayne Russell has named the five teams under the most pressure heading into Round 9.
Russell’s pressure meter ranks teams from 1-5, with number one having the most pressure on them and the most to lose heading into the round.
Check out Russell’s pressure meter below.
1 – Fremantlevs Collingwood – Optus Stadium – Thursday
“I’ve got Fremantle number one.
“Obviously, the most disappointing team of the season so far. Were expected to be a premiership contender and are now ninth.
“They’re on the biggest stage at home against Collingwood. Massive pressure on Fremantle, more than on any other team heading into this round.”
2 - Port Adelaidevs Adelaide - Adelaide Oval – Saturday
"Port Adelaide I've got at two.
“Home showdown, smashed by the Dogs last week.
“They’re 12th right now on the ladder after finishing top four last year. A loss would see Port Adelaide drop to 13th or 14th.”
3 – Carltonvs St Kilda - MCG – Friday
“I’ve actually got Carlton at three. 13th and face the Saints who sit one win above them.
“The Blues have a chance to prove to themselves, and to Tom De Koning, that they are closer to the finals than St Kilda.
“Not a game you want to lose if you’re the Blues.”
4 - GWSvs Geelong – GMHBA Stadium – Sunday
"I've got the Giants at four.
“They’ve lost their past three games the Giants, they’ll fall out of the eight if they lose to Geelong.
“It is a tough task, beating the Cats in Geelong. The season’s not over if they lose, but this is a pretty big game for them after three losses in a row."
5 – Gold Coastvs Western Bulldogs - TIO Stadium – Saturday
"I've got the Gold Coast at five.
“Lost two of their past three, and facing some of the competition’s big boys.
“The Bulldogs in Darwin, like the Lions were at the Gabba last week, is one of the big boys of the competition right now.
“So, prove your worth Gold Coast.”
