David Parkin’s 2025 AFL Grand Final and premiership picks
Hawthorn and Carlton legend David Parkin has declared Adelaide as his premiership favourites, saying the structure and method of the Crows will stack up in September.
The four-time premiership coach and one-time flag-winning player knows all about success in September having taken both Carlton and Hawthorn to the pinnacle in the 1970s and 80s.
Parkin felt that Adelaide’s journey to the top would hold them in good stead however he also said that Hawthorn would be one to watch in the finals.

“I actually think if I was able to choose and bet on, I think I would go for Adelaide,” Parkin told SEN's Whateley.
“I think that they have a structure and a method and a coach (Matthew Nicks) who has been on the end of significant disappointment and that seems to be a key to coaching and coaching success.
“I’ve got obviously an interest in Brisbane, but they seem to be struggling a bit, Collingwood look like they are going down the other way and not up again.
“Hawthorn I would like to think they are capable; they play the most exciting football of all.
“I’d like to see a Hawthorn and Adelaide Grand Final and that would be terrific for me, and it would be a toss of a coin as to who wins.”
The 2025 AFL Grand Final is set for Saturday, September 27 at the MCG.
