Blackcaps opening batter Devon Conway is in doubt for the first ODI against India, and potentially more of the series, following a collision with Matt Henry during fielding practice.
Speaking with media after training, captain Mitchell Santner confirmed that Henry had gone through concussion testing and seemed 'okay' - however Conway is receiving further assessment.
"It's one of those ones you want to take very seriously, head knocks. We have a backup batter in line just in case, but we'll wait and see how he pulls up. But it didn't look great to be fair," Santner said.
The Blackcaps skipper confirmed the backup batter would be Tim Seifert, who recently scored 93 in the fifth T20 against India.
The five-match ODI series begins Wednesday at Eden Park - first ball is scheduled for 3pm NZ time.
