Curnow's exit meeting: He will "air his grievances" with Carlton

Charlie Curnow will use his Carlton exit meeting to air some grievances with the clubs powerbrokers, according to Tom Morris who is adamant the exit door is still a long way off for the dual Coleman Medallist.
It’s been almost a fortnight since Curnow publicly declared that a move away from Ikon Park would not be happening this off-season, but it’s done little to reduce speculation over his future.
Tom De Koning and Jack Silvagni have left the club this week and others are rumoured to be following suit.
While it remains to be seen who else walks away, Morris has suggested that Curnow is unlikely to be one of them given the complexities and length of his current deal.
“Curnow has his exit meeting today (Thursday),” Morris said on SEN Breakfast.
“I don’t expect he will walk in there and request a trade, but he will discuss his future and air some grievances with the club.”
Asked about the links to the Swans, Morris added: “If this happens and it’s a huge if; Sydney can’t give Carlton even close to what they want.
“It will be incumbent on Curnow’s management to orchestrate that deal and be the middle person. We’re a long long way off that.
“Being hypothetical, if Curnow was off contract he would be requesting a trade but it’s too hard now given how long his deal is.
“I think it would have to be remarkable (any offer). It’s not a no, put it that way.”
Not long ago, Curnow told the media he was keen on a move to Queensland, and while not an official trade request, it certainly begs the question of whether Carlton want to have a disgruntled player on their list for 2026.
“As far as I know it’s only Sydney because the Suns can’t get it done,” Morris said.
“They’re not giving up Ben King. You can’t kick King out of the club when he wants to stay.
“That could happen at the end of next year, he could leave as a free agent.”
