SENΒ β’ Β April 23rd, 2025 11:15 am

Champion Data have identified the players who have improved and who have fallen away so far in season 2025.
After a sample size of six rounds, the biggest risers and fallers from a player ratings point of view have become clearer, according to lead analyst Daniel Hoyne.
He went through the top 10 risers and top 10 fallers on SENβs Sportsday.
The 10 biggest risers
1 - Paul Curtis (North Melbourne)
βHeβs risen 215 places on our ratings system this year to be the 15th highest rated player in the comp after Round 6.β
2 - Seth Campbell (Richmond)
βSeth Campbell has risen 210 places this year, into the top 35 players in the competition.β
3 - Steele Sidebottom (Collingwood)
βWeβve mentioned Steele Sidebottom a bit. Currently the 42nd highest rated player in the competition. Heβs risen 179 places to actually have his best season so far since 2016.β
4 - Mark Blicavs (Geelong)
βHe has risen 175 places this year. You see him on Monday and heβs playing on the wing. Heβs been playing full-back all year then Round 6 you see him on the wing, what an asset to have.β
5 - Tom Brown (Richmond)
βHeβs going really well, has risen 173 places this year.β
6 - Matt Kennedy (Western Bulldogs)
βHeβs risen 155 places to the top 20 players in the compeititon so far.β
7 - Connor Rozee (Port Adelaide)
βWe want to give this guy a bit of recognition. I put him on the agenda last year and earlier this year about how impactful he has been.
βSo far this year he has risen 148 places. Right now heβs having his best year that we have seen on our ratings system. Hats off to Ken and Rozee for what he has been able to do.β
8 - Jack Darling (North Melbourne)
βThis is an interesting one. He has risen 144 places. Still outside the top 100 players so heβs not shooting the lights out, but heβs doing better than what he was doing at West Coast the year before.β
9 - Bailey Humphrey (Gold Coast)
βHe has risen 143 places this year.β
10 - Lloyd Meek (Hawthorn)
βMeek has risen 138 places.β
The 10 biggest fallers
1 - Sam Flanders (Gold Coast)
βFlanders has dropped 271 places this year. Last year he was used across half-back, mid, last couple of games across half-forward.
βIn 2025 so far he has predominantly been used across the half-forward line.β
2 - Harry Sheezel (North Melbourne)
βSheezel has dropped 242 places this year. Why he has dropped from the 11th best player in the comp last year to 253rd - all down to how he is using the footy.
βThe impact with ball in hand this year is 324th. I think he needs to get back to the half-back flank and get some creativity.β
3 - Andrew McGrath (Essendon)
βMcGrath has dropped 217 places. Heβs actually having his worst season.β
4 - Aaron Naughton (Western Bulldogs)
βHe has dropped 214 places. It will be interesting to see how that goes over the next three months now (with Sam Darcy injured).β
5 - Jarman Impey (Hawthorn)
βHas dropped 211 places. A bit of everything (both winning the footy and using it) in that.β
6 - Tyson Stengle (Geelong)
βThis is all down to how he is using it. Heβs dropped 210 places, so thatβs a bit of a positive if youβre a Geelong supporter in that offensively theyβre going well and this bloke hasnβt really fired a shot yet.β
7 - Rowan Marshall (St Kilda)
βHe has dropped 206 places. He was a top-100 player last year and has been for a couple of years. Now heβs 299th in the comp.β
8 - Blake Acres (Carlton)
βI donβt think Carlton supporters would be too surprised by this - Acres has dropped 205 places. Itβs all down to how he is using the footy.β
9 - Lachie Neale (Brisbane)
βThis one is interesting as well. Neale has dropped 202 places this year. 41st in the comp last year, 243rd in the comp this year. How heβs using the footy? 255th in the competition.β
10 - Sam Clohesy (Gold Coast)
βHe has dropped 198 spots. Ironically he was dropped on the weekend.β
