Bulldogs' rising star Bailey Hayward has provided an insight into how new star Lachlan Galvin is settling into the club, five days after the 19-year-old joined the club.
After a messy and well-publicised exit from the Wests Tigers, Galvin has begun the next chapter of his career at the Bulldogs.
It is yet to be seen if Galvin will make his debut for his new club in their King's Birthday clash against the Parramatta Eels, with Galvin named on the extended bench in jersey 23.
The Bulldogs are presently first on the ladder but Galvin's arrival brings the prospect of upheaval to the settled line-up, with halfback, five-eighth, or lock all suggested as likely positions for the teenager.
Hayward, who has been a revelation coming off the bench at Belmore this season, opened up on Galvin's addition to the side.
"He's fitting in good, he's a very skillful player," Hayward said on SEN 1170 Drive.
"He's a very talented player but he's fitting in very well. (He's a) pretty quiet kid but all the boys have gotten around him and he's enjoying his time.
"I can't really speak for other people, but Ciro (Cameron Ciraldo) just had chats with me about what my game looks like this week and what he wants me to go out and do but I'm not 100% sure where he'll play.
"I leave that up to the coaching staff, I know they'll have the best interests of the playing group so wherever he sort of ends up I'm not too sure."
The Bulldogs' final bye will be in Round 16 before the club begins a perilous run home which includes two battles with a desperate Penrith outfit, and fellow top eight sides the Storm, Sharks, Warriors, Cowboys, and Sea Eagles, amongst others.
It also includes a match against Galvin's old side, the Wests Tigers, in Round 22 at Commbank stadium that promises fireworks.
Hayward says the tough run home will be good for the Bulldogs in the hunt for their first minor premiership since 2012.
"In two weeks, that's our last bye so we can sort of refresh and after that it's that home stretch, Hayward said.
"(To) put us in good stead to play finals, you want to play big games, so you want to be playing the best of the best and the top teams.
"It will be hard but I think that will put us in good stead for the back year, playing them teams, (playing) big games and getting us ready for finals."
