Buckley’s top four seeds after Opening Round, 2025
The weekly seeds are back for the 2025 AFL season, and Nathan Buckley has taken over from fellow SEN talent David King this campaign.
Buckley will rank the four teams he has the most confidence in going forward on a weekly basis throughout the year.
Gerard Whateley will join Buckley in naming four seeds following Round 1, with the SEN host choosing to wait until all 18 teams have played to put his flag in the ground.
The seedings will be updated as the season goes on via SEN’s Whateley.
See the seedings below:
BUCKLEY
1. Brisbane
2. GWS
“I've put the Giants from four to two,” Buckley said.
“As good as Hawthorn were, I actually thought the Giants' performance was the most consolidated of Opening Round, given their outs.
“That probably said a lot about them.
“Sydney go from the second seed to out on their performance. There’s some questions around them.”
3. Geelong
“My third seed is still Geelong.
“I still think that they're going to be the challenger to the two top seeds.”
4. Hawthorn
“I'm putting Hawthorn into the fourth seed.
“I just thought they answered some of the questions around expectations and how they’re going to front up.
“That was a really strong performance and they have earned that position.”

WHATELEY
To be revealed after Round 1.
