Buckley and Whateley’s top four seeds after Round 9, 2025
Nathan Buckley and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds following Round 9 of the 2025 AFL season.
Buckley and Whateley will each rank the four teams they have the most confidence in going forward on a weekly basis throughout the year.
The seedings will be updated as the season goes on via SEN’s Whateley.
See the seedings below:

BUCKLEY
1 - Collingwood
“It was a good win (against Fremantle), wasn't it?” Buckley said on SEN Whateley.
“They'll keep coming as well. They love playing on the ‘G, so they get another good test against Adelaide, they’ll be welcoming that.
“Adelaide should absolutely be welcoming the test of their style and how it stands up.
“I think you love playing the best teams at a time when you're actually going really well too, because you find out a bit about yourself.”
2 - Brisbane
3 - Hawthorn
“Whoever loses this week when the Suns play the Hawks in Darwin is going out.
“The Hawks are 7-2 and not playing their best … so they definitely have integrity.”
4 – Gold Coast
“I’ve got Gold Coast at four. Their game stacks up and they’ve got a really good test this week against the third seed.”
WHATELEY
1 - Collingwood
“Collingwood reassume their place at one,” Whateley said.
“That was just vintage, road warrior, Magpie behaviour, ‘Undermanned? Don't care, go across the country, this is what we do’.
“They walked in, faced an opponent that was all fizzed up and took them down.
“Just so good.”
2 – Brisbane
3 – Western Bulldogs
“The Bulldogs are at three, that was as good as a win for mine even though they lost in Darwin."
4 - Geelong
“Geelong are at four. They're playing in such good games.”
