"Got home at 6am": Zorko reveals which Lions celebrated hardest

Cameron Rayner is “officially” best on ground from a Brisbane Lions celebrations perspective.
Almost 48 hours on from winning their second consecutive Premiership, it seems the 25-year-old star is still partying hard and sharing his every move with Dayne Zorko.
“It’s a weekend we won’t forget and a performance we won’t forget,” SENQ Breakfast regular Zorko told Corey Parker and Ian Healy.
“It was awesome. I can’t believe we have done it again.
“We’ve taken advantage of it, all the discipline you put your body through every year. There's probably only two weeks that you get to let your hair down. It’s a nice reward after a pretty difficult year. Plenty of challenges and adversity.
“The boys are in a good position, Cam Rayner has probably been best on ground, I don’t know how he’s still going he was sending me videos at 5am, he got home at 6am the day before.
“He’s had a fair dinkum go. We will have some more drinks today and then our B&F on Thursday.”
The sunglasses were working overtime on Sunday as players made their way from the team hotel to Fitzroy, to the airport and then to a fan day at Springfield in Brisbane.
Asked what went down after the siren and whether Snoop Dogg had stuck around to party, Zorko added: “It was unfortunate, Snoop ducked off to Sydney after the Grand Final show. But we got to catch up with Baker Boy at the afterparty which was awesome.
“The best part is having all our past players there as well. It’s the best feeling. They couldn’t be happier for us.”
While Zorko, Rayner and the like were pushing hard, it was a different story for coach Chris Fagan who said he’d learnt his lesson in 2024.
"I watched a few highlights when I got back from the function,” he said of his celebrations. “It was 4am last year, it was 11pm last night.
"Had one beer and feel fresh today. There’s a fair few functions coming up.
"The thing I enjoyed the most was when Oscar McInerney and Darcy Gardiner got their medals. That was special. They carried the cup off the ground as well."
