Bombers expect the worst for emerging ruckman

Essendon ruckman Nick Bryan has reportedly suffered ACL damage after going down in a ruck contest during the Bombers’ 39-point win over Melbourne.
The 23-year-old stepped awkwardly on his right leg before going to ground while rucking against Max Gawn in the first term at Adelaide Oval.
"He left the ground last night with the belief that he has torn his ACL," Josh Gabelich told SEN's Crunch Time.
"Essendon expects that he will miss the rest of the year with a ruptured ACL.
"It's a bitter blow for someone like Nick Bryan who has had to wait so long to become a permanent fixture in this side."
While the severity of damage is yet to be revealed by the club, it is expected that the injury would see Bryan miss the remainder of the 2025 season.
Bryan played in all four games for the Bombers in 2025, averaging 10 dispoals and 19 hit outs across the season.
Essendon won't be short on replacements, with Todd Goldstein remaining on the list and Peter Wright competing in a scratch match with the Bombers' VFL side this weekend.
