Burke: What the Wallabies must fix for Perth Test

Wallabies legend Matt Burke has listed the three areas that Australia must fix to give themselves the best opportunity of beating the All Blacks in the second Bledisloe Cup Test.
While the cup has been retained by New Zealand for a 22nd year following their 33-24 win at Eden Park last week, there is still plenty to play for Australia, who have been on a resurgence this year.
Entering into the final matchday of the Rugby Championship (which the Bledisloe Cup is played within), the Wallabies still have the potential of winning the overall championship despite sitting third on a 2-3 record.
To win their first Championship since 2015, they’ll need to beat the All Blacks, which they haven’t done since 2020 and then hope that Argentina beats South Africa later in the night without the Springboks claiming a defensive bonus point.
Alongside wanting to claim the title, the match will also be stalwart James Slipper's 151st and final test for the side, which should provide some extra motivation for the side to get the job done.
But regardless of that, beating New Zealand has been a tough assignment for Australia over the last 22 years.
However, Burke has pointed out that the Wallabies only need to make three simple changes from last week’s match to really challenge the All Blacks on Saturday.
“It’s in the head, right?” Burke said on SEN’s Mornings with Julian King and Blake Austin.
“All it is pressure, and pressure creates that moment in time when you don’t…sort of trust yourself or you don’t trust your teammates, and then you fall apart.
“When you giving teams more opportunities with the ball, that makes life really tough.
“So, the big one for the weekend is going to be discipline.
“You’d think after this weekend, it’s going to be understanding where to be around the park.
“And making sure that you score some points for the good work that you’ve done.
“Hard to execute sometimes, but pretty simple in theory.”
The Wallabies will face off against the All Blacks at Optus Stadium in Perth on Saturday night.
