Northern Districts pace bowler Matt Fisher has earned a maiden ODI call-up, while Jacob Duffy returns to international cricket in the Blackcaps squad for the five-match tour of the West Indies, which starts July 11 in Guyana.
Fisher, 26, has taken 43 wickets in 25 List A matches at an average of 26 and has already represented New Zealand in one Test and one T20I.
Duffy, the reigning Sir Richard Hadlee Medal winner, is back for the first time since the T20 World Cup final in March, having missed the recent England Test series for the birth of his first child.
Kristian Clarke, Ben Sears and Nathan Smith complete the pace-bowling group, while Mitchell Santner will captain the side and lead the spin options alongside Michael Bracewell, Jayden Lennox and Dean Foxcroft. Tom Latham has been named wicket-keeper.
Strike bowlers Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry and Will O’Rourke will be rested after heavy workloads, while Blair Tickner is unavailable due to scheduled ankle surgery.

Having recently welcomed his second child, Devon Conway will miss the tour to spend time with family, while Rachin Ravindra was unavailable due to his Major League Cricket commitments in the US.
Blackcaps head coach Rob Walter welcomed the additions of Duffy and Fisher.
“It’s great to have Jacob and Matt joining the group and I know they’ll bring a lot of energy and excitement,” he said.
“It’s a nice opportunity to introduce Matt to the ODI group for the first time. He bowls with good pace and has been working hard on his variations to ensure he can bowl at different stages of the innings.
“Jacob has been a stand-out for us in all formats for the past couple of years. His skills and experience will be a great addition to our squad and I know he’s looking forward to representing New Zealand again.”
The five-game series gets underway in Guyana with the first three matches on July 11, 13 and 16, before the series moves to Bridgetown in Barbados for the final two fixtures on July 19 and 21.
