Are things coming to an end for Goodwin after Saints disaster?
Was Sunday’s stunning six-point loss to St Kilda a reminder that Melbourne and coach Simon Goodwin need a fresh start?
Kane Cornes thinks that it was proof that it might be time for Goodwin’s tenure to come to an end at the club after nine seasons and a premiership.
The Demons lost Sunday’s game in farcical fashion, giving up a 46-point lead at the final break – the biggest three-quarter time deficit overcome in V/AFL history - and it wasn’t only the margin that was cause for concern.
Much of the heat on Goodwin has focused on the final minute of the game, with Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera kicking a tying goal in the last minute before the Dees gave up a 6-6-6 violation in the final 10 seconds, allowing Wanganeen-Milera to run forward unopposed, mark and kick a match-winner after the siren.
After the final quarter and particularly the final minute disaster, Cornes and his SEN Breakfast co-host David King looked ahead at where things sit for club and coach.

Cornes: “Is it coming to an end for Goody?
“Is this another reminder that they’re probably going to need a fresh start, as much as he's going to go down in the club's history as an absolute legend?
“There are some issues in their game that have been constant for the last two to three years.
“There's been external distractions, and on the field, he’s had some issues that he hasn't been able to solve.
“This is just another reminder that maybe they need a fresh start, Melbourne.”
King: “When you lose like this, you allow us to have these conversations.
“I thought they did a terrific job for the first three quarters. I liked (Caleb) Windsor going in at centre bounces, and I thought that was an evolution there, something different.
“I’ve liked what they'd done, but when you are short on details, it's the gaps that cost you coaching status. They cost you your job.
“I don't think this in isolation will (cost him), but they wouldn't want another one of these types of incidents where the details are not adhered to or known.”
In some relief for the club, the 13th placed Demons will go in favourites to win their seventh game of the season when they meet the Eagles at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
