TV Ratings: Grand Final numbers reach four-year high
The 2025 AFL Grand Final TV ratings have been released, with Channel Seven's live and exclusive coverage exceeding the numbers of previous years.
The contest between Brisbane and Geelong at the MCG reached a total of 6.09 million people from the first bounce to the final siren, claiming the title as the most watched program on Channel Seven across 2025.
Capturing a total TV audience of 4.076 million people, the game saw a year on year a growth of 50,000 in comparison to the 2024 Grand Final between Brisbane and Sydney.
Snoop Dogg’s pre-game entertainment reached a total of 3.9 million viewers, comfortably exceeding last year’s pre-game featuring American pop star Katy Perry, with a total of 294,000 streams on 7plus nearly doubling the 2024 Grand Final tally.
The award presentations also far exceeded last year’s numbers, reaching a total of 5,460,000 viewers, while being streamed to 884,000, over 300,000 more than previous years.
This year’s contest becomes the most watched Grand Final contest since 2021, falling short of the 6.34 million total viewership of Melbourne’s win over the Western Bulldogs in Perth.
