Trade talk: St Kilda’s reported offer to Silvagni

St Kilda has made a significant offer to Jack Silvagni, according to reports.
Channel 9 journalist and SEN regular Tom Morris suggests that the Saints have tabled a five-year deal worth up to $850,000 a year for Silvagni.
The 27-year-old informed Carlton last week of his desire to leave as an unrestricted free agent this trade period. Silvagni has already been heavily linked to Collingwood while the Western Bulldogs have also shown interest.
But it is the Saints - where Jack’s father Stephen is the list boss - who are intent on luring him to Moorabbin with a very nice offer.
“St Kilda’s interest in him has really only ramped up the last few days,” Morris said on Footy Classified.
“It’s been driven by (Graeme) ‘Gubby’ Allan and the list management team there, probably with Stephen Silvagni to one side given the obvious conflict of interest.
“The Dogs were confident, they’re not as confident as they once were.
“I think St Kilda’s offer, according to rival clubs, is somewhere between $800,000 and $850,000 a year times five (years).
“Which could even trigger band 1 compensation for Carlton. Wouldn’t that be an amazing thing if they can get band 1 for TDK (Tom De Koning) and for Jack Silvagni.
“He’ll meet with St Kilda in the next few days and do a medical, then it’s a matter of whether he wants to go to Collingwood, the Western Bulldogs or Moorabbin.”
