Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) continues to make its mark in the Australian Podcast Ranker, with AFL Trade Radio and Giddy Up with Gareth Hall leading the charge during the month of October.
AFL Trade Radio reaffirmed its status as Australia’s go-to destination for trade news and analysis, finishing sixth by downloads and 36th by unique listeners in the latest ranker. Widely regarded as the country’s most successful pop-up sports audio product, AFL Trade Radio dominates the AFL Trade Period every year, delivering wall-to-wall coverage for three intense weeks. Despite not all broadcast days falling within this ranker period, its performance underscores the unrivalled demand for comprehensive trade discussion and expert insight.
Meanwhile, Giddy Up with Gareth Hall surged into the Top 100 at #83, attracting over 70,000 unique listeners and delivering an impressive 270,000 downloads for the month.
Across the board, SEN had 15 titles in the Australian Top 300, a strong showing as seasonal content winds down.
Aside from AFL Trade Radio and Giddy Up, these included SEN Breakfast (which includes Fireball with Kane & Kingy featuring Kane Cornes and David King, as well as Breakfast with Garry & Tim featuring Garry Lyon and Tim Watson) at #30, Whateley (with Gerard Whateley) at #61, The Sounding Board (with Craig Hutchison and Damien Barrett) at #110, The Run Home with Joel & Fletch (with Joel Caine and Bryan Fletcher) at #136, Breakfast with Vossy & Brandy (with Andrew Voss and Greg ‘Brandy’ Alexander) at #168, Sportsday (with Gerard Healy and Kane Cornes) at #184, The Run Home with Andy & Gazey (with Andy Maher and Andrew Gaze) at #219, SEN Afternoons (with Dwayne Russell) at #228, Morning Glory with Matty Johns at #245, Off the Bench (with Craig Hutchison and Liam Pickering) at #248, SEN WA Breakfast (with Scott Cummings, Tim Gossage and Adam Simpson) at #253, SEN League at #260, and Mornings with Mark Duffield at #294.
SEN Group Radio Director, Sam Thompson, said that whilst a lot of Australian sporting entries naturally decreased their rankings following the end of the winter football codes’ seasons in September, these results highlighted the SEN’s dominance in sports audio.
“These results underline the strength and depth of our podcast offering,” Thompson said. “AFL Trade Radio remains a powerhouse during the AFL Trade Period, and Gareth Hall’s Giddy Up continues its remarkable rise, reflecting the growing appetite for racing content. To have 15 titles in the Top 300 is a testament to our team’s commitment to delivering premium sports storytelling.”
