Christian Petracca's Demons exit is complete, with Melbourne and the Gold Coast Suns agreeing on a deal for the superstar midfielder.
Melbourne have acquired Pick 7, Pick 8 and a 2026 first-round pick from the Suns, sending back Petracca and three second-round selections.
Following last season's outright demands to leave Melbourne, Petracca opted against a tumultuous exit, instead advocating for a peaceful and mutual agreement to explore his options.
Agreeing to explore potential interstate options, the star Demon met with both Adelaide and Gold Coast, before nominating the Suns as his next home.
Gold Coast didn't sent any formal offers to Melbourne until deadline day, as they juggled deals for outgoing talents Sam Flanders, Brayden Fiorini, Ben Ainsworth and Connor Budarick, while also formulating deals for Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and acquiring late draft picks to match bids for Zeke Uwland and Dylan Patterson.
With the deal officially done, Petracca joins captain Noah Anderson, Brownlow Medallist Matt Rowell and Touk Miller in a star-studded Gold Coast outfit, while the Demons' reset commences under Steven King.
Petracca follows 2021 premiership teammate Clayton Oliver out the exit door after he made the move to GWS.
