Trade Talk: Oliver makes choice between Pies and Giants
SEN •  October 9th, 2025 10:43 pm

Clayton Oliver has reportedly nominated his trade destination for 2026.
In recent days, it has been a two-horse race between Greater Western Sydney and Collingwood for the services of the three-time All-Australian.
But it appears that the Giants have been successful in their approach for the Melbourne midfielder, with Cal Twomey reporting that Oliver's manager Nick Gieschen has confirmed that the three-time All-Australian wants to move to New South Wales.
"Clayton Oliver has confirmed his desire to be traded to GWS," he said.
"GWS will now work with Melbourne to strike a deal between the clubs." he said.
With Josh Kelly expected to be out for the majority of 2026, the addition of Oliver should help bolster their midfield, which already includes the likes of Finn Callaghan and Tom Green.
Currently, the Giants have Picks 14, 35, and 37 in this year's draft, alongside future picks in 2026 to help get the deal done.
It is expected that Melbourne will pay part of Oliver's salary as part of any potential move from the club.
