The sticking point in Sydney’s Curnow offer

The Sydney Swans have lodged a first offer for Carlton's Charlie Curnow.
The Swans have tabled Ollie Florent, Will Hayward, Pick 11 and a 2026 first-round pick, in exchange for Curnow.
It is understood that the Swans want Pick 22 back as well.
Tom Morris reported the offer earlier on Tuesday and has since added more details to the situation.
“Sydney has offered a deal to Carlton for Charlie Curnow,” Morris posted on X.
“Pick 11, 2026 first rounder, Ollie Florent & Will Hayward.”
Morris then added further context.
“The Swans want Curnow and a late pick in return.
“It’s actually not a late pick the Swans want back, it’s pick 22 (Silvagni compo).
“Let’s see how Carlton responds to that.”
Before the sticking point was added.
“The finances around this deal are complex and are a bit of a sticking point. It's not as easy as Carlton picking up the contracts of Hayward & Florent & Sydney doing the same for Curnow. Who pays what could also impact the trade itself.
“A bit to navigate given Hayward & Florent are in Brazil (separately), plus all three players are managed by the same company.”
With the trade period deadline set for Wednesday at 7:30pm AEST, the Blues and Swans are likely to go the distance with any further negotiations.
