Kevin DiDi: Sheeds comes clean on fan confrontation
Kevin Sheedy has come clean on an incident that was plastered over social media on Sunday night.
The Essendon great was filmed confronting departing fans at Marvel Stadium during the Bombers’ hapless loss at the hands of St Kilda.
Some social pages had a bit of fun at the expense of Sheeds for approaching the pair while wearing what looks to be a GWS Giants scarf. The suggestion was that he was trying to convince them to stay to see out the game.
He was heard saying “don’t be marshmallows” to the couple… who just so happened to be actors who were in on the fun.
Sheedy says he was there for a spot with ride share company DiDi, insisting he was not attempting to convince the duo to stay for more Dons pain.

“I was doing an ad for DiDi,” Sheedy said on SEN Afternoons.
“So that’s what it was all about. It’s probably been a little bit misconstrued from some of the media boys and ladies, but anyway.
“DiDi has a sore loser saver where if you stay at the game longer you get a half-price DiDi drive home.
“That was all about a lot of fun with a couple of actors. Everyone thought it was a serious negotiation going on.
“I’m finishing the ad right now at Marvel Stadium. I told everybody in the news that I’m still at the stadium and haven’t left after the St Kilda game.
“I still have a bit of fun even though the Bombers are down.”

DiDi fun aside, Sheedy still reckons James Hird is the man to pull the Bombers out of the mire.
“Yeah, I don’t change (my view),” he added.
“The last mistake we make you can rectify it very simply.
“I think he’s a more rounded person now in his life than what he was 15 years ago.
“He’s lived life a lot longer, he’s gone through a hell of a lot of difficulties. He’s come back from seven fractures in his skull, a broken foot, he missed nearly 100 games and still won five best and fairests - he’s got character written all over him.
“This last decade he would have learnt a hell of a lot as a person in general and be a more rounded coach than what he was the first time.
“But that’s just my opinion and I’m allowed to have it.”
