Cornes: The best forward line in the AFL

Kane Cornes is a massive fan of Fremantle’s forward mix in 2026.
The Dockers tuned up for the impending 2026 season with a 28-point practice match win over West Coast on Saturday with Jye Amiss kicking four goals and Patrick Voss three.
Throw in Josh Treacy and resting ruckman/on-baller Luke Jackson, along with Shai Bolton, Murphy Reid, Michael Frederick and Sam Switkowski, and Cornes has it as the best forward mix in the AFL.
“I know you’ve been big on Fremantle and how strong their list is,” Cornes said to co-host David King on SEN’s Fireball.
“Is it the best forward line? You know I’m a Patrick Voss fan.
“I don’t know if there’s a better forward line in the AFL. If you can come up with one let me know.
“Murphy Reid, Jye Amiss, Sam Switkowski, Patrick Voss, Josh Treacy, Shai Bolton with a mix of Luke Jackson and ‘Fast Freddie’ Michael Frederick.
“Is there a better mix than that? I think it’s the best three keys you can have in Amiss, Treacy and Voss. Amiss kicks a lot of goals, he’s a young key forward.
“I can’t see a better forward mix.”
It prompted a debate with King who reckons the back-to-back Brisbane Lions might have a better forward setup.
King: “You’d take Brisbane’s. Oscar Allen goes in there now.”
Cornes: “Are you certain about Oscar Allen? How’s his last two years been?”
King: “I’m as certain on him as I am on Jye Amiss.
“Who kicks more goals this year? Amiss or Allen?”
Cornes: “Amiss because he plays. Oscar Allen doesn’t play!
“I’ll give you Brisbane’s smalls…”
King: “Amiss, Treacy and Voss versus Morris, Gallop and Allen. It’s an interesting chat.”
Cornes: “I’d take Freo’s.”
