- Legends game is at Marvel on August 28
Jobe Watson is the final piece of the jigsaw with the full teams for the 2025 Legends Game now confirmed.
The 40-year-old former Essendon captain, who retired in 2017, joins the Victorian side under the coaching leadership of his dad Tim and captaincy of Luke Hodge.
“I haven’t kicked a footy since I retired so it will be interesting to see how I go tomorrow night,” he told SEN Breakfast.
“I miss the camaraderie and teammates. I never really had a desire to keep playing after I retired though.
“I’ve been trying to get on the treadmill and do some running but I’m coming off a very low base. I don’t know how effective I will be tomorrow night.
“I don’t think my kids believe I ever played footy. I am looking forward to listening to the Whisp though, highly-credentialled.
“It’ll be interesting to see which personality comes out tomorrow night.”
