Injuries galore: Lion's torn ankle, star Cat's suspected break
Amid the 2025 Grand Final wash-up, a number of severe injuries have been revealed across both sides of Brisbane's wonderful victory.
Star Lion midfielder Josh Dunkley played out a strong performance, mirroring his physical consistency with 16 disposals, five tackles and three clearances.
While his game certainly stood up, Dunkley was far from peak fitness, revealing on AFL Nation that the midfielder was playing with a Grade 3 syndesmosis.

"My ankle is a Grade 3 syndesmosis, for those that don't know," Dunkley said.
"Although the know out there would know what that is, that's what I'm playing on.
"I didn't want it to be an issue. I felt like if I could play my role as best as I could for the team, it wasn't about the kicks, marks and handballs but more the leadership, helping the young guys play the way that they did today.
"I was just grateful to play a part. I never wanted to miss, but it is a pretty serious injury so I'll get that fixed up over the coming weeks."
Was it done last week?
"Yeah it was. I did it early in the third, got the jab and got back out there. Got scans on the Sunday and that's what it revealed.
"It's all part of it."
On the other side, star Geelong forward Jeremy Cameron suffered what the club expects to be a broken arm.
Charging down Lion Jaspa Fletcher on the wing during the second term, Cameron laid the tackle and brought Fletcher to ground, landing awkwardly on his right arm in the process.
As reported by 7News journalist Mitch Cleary, Geelong is predicting the worst for Cameron, with expectations of a broken arm.
Despite the severity of the issue, Cameron played out the remainder of the contest, finishing up with eight disposals and two behinds in the loss.
