Gold Coast key forward Jed Walter is expected to turn down rival interest, with reports suggesting the 21-year-old will sign a three-year extension to remain a Sun.
As reported by AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey, the out-of-contract youngster will put pen to paper on a three-year deal, seeing him through to 2029 despite persistent interest competition-wide.
Walter reportedly met with Essendon officials amid ongoing interest from Victoria, with the Bombers tabling a five-year, $6 million offer for the Gold Coast Academy graduate.
Geelong, Collingwood and Hawthorn were also chasing Walter's signature, who was taken with the third overall pick in the 2023 National Draft.
Walter has managed a career-high 23 goals from 12 games this season.
His decision to re-sign comes as his key forward partner Ben King continues to weigh up his options, also entering the off-season without a deal for 2027.
King's decision remains up in the air as he balances significant interest from his home state of Victoria.
