Davies: Voss knows every decision made is best for Carlton
Carlton GM of Football Chris Davies has given his continued support to Michael Voss ahead of a crucial season for the club's senior coach.
Despite a subpar 2025 season, the club decided to opt into the final year of Voss' contract, permitting a fifth season at the helm and promoting stability that the Blues have lacked in recent history.
With major changes to Carlton's list in the off-season - headlined by Charlie Curnow's move to the Sydney Swans - the pressure on Voss to succeed may not feel as apparent as it has in recent seasons.
However, it cannot be understated how important it is for the coach to make notable progress in season 2026. With a new coaching panel and support from Premiership coach Adam Simpson, the Blues have pulled out all stops to support their man.
And with that in mind, former Port Adelaide GM of footy Davies has forwarded his support to Voss ahead of the upcoming campaign, citing his ongoing determination to lead the club back to September.

“I am very fortunate that I’ve now worked with two senior coaches (Voss and Ken Hinkley) who have undoubtedly always put the club ahead of their own ambitions,” Davies told SEN Sportsday.
“That’s so important. Through the trade period last year, my interactions with him last year as a senior coach, he has done nothing other than say that he wants the best for this club, both in the short term, and the long term.
“We were able to make some decisions over the off-season that we think set the club up better from a long-term perspective.
“Michael is all in on making sure that the decisions that we make are best for the Carlton Football Club.
“I’ve had no challenge so far in actually having to do anything other than support him, because I think that the decisions that we’ve made over this off-season are right.”
The Blues meet Geelong in the AAMI Community Series at Ikon Park tonight (Wednesday, 7:10pm AEDT) before kicking off the 2026 AFL season against Charlie Curnow and Sydney at the SCG on Thursday, March 5.
