Trade talk: Young Demon requests trade to WA
Melbourne defender Judd McVee has handed in a trade request, seeking a move to his home state of WA.
The 22-year-old has been rumoured to be interested in a move back home over the course of the season and has now officially made the call, requesting to join the Fremantle Dockers ahead of the 2026 season.
Having locked up a spot in the Demons’ starting defence, McVee endured an injury interrupted start to 2025, missing until round seven before returning to play 17 games.
McVee has played 65 games for the club since being selected with the 18th pick in the 2021 Rookie Draft, and will now seek a move closer to his hometown in East Perth.
The Demons have expressed their desire to keep McVee, with a deal in front of the out-of-contract defender.
