Delisted Bomber joins Devils as club's first official signing
The Tasmania Devils have locked in their first official player ahead of their inaugural VFL season in 2026.
Delisted Bomber and Tassie native Jye Menzie has put pen to paper with the Devils, committing to their VFL setup ahead of their debut season next year.
The 22-year-old forward joins the club following 47 games across four seasons with the Bombers, including 10 games in 2025, kicking nine goals from an average of eight disposals a game.

“I am a proud Tasmanian, and I cannot wait to be involved in the build of the club from the ground up,” Menzie said in a club statement.
“I am really looking forward to getting in on the ground floor and being back in Tassie and getting stuck into training.
“I have learned a lot during my career so far, and particularly during my time in the AFL. I am really eager to share my learnings and continue to grow whilst being back on home soil.”
With the Devils set for their inaugural AFL season in 2028, the club has the ability to promote VFL-listed talent directly into their senior squad, allowing Menzie to develop at VFL level before transitioning into their senior set-up in two years’ time.
As their on-field duties continue to develop, the side's fate continues to hang in the balance, with their planned Macquarie Point Stadium facing a number of hurdles ahead of its deadline in 2028.
The club was also handed down their list assistance on Wednesday morning, granted a range of first round picks with caveats from 2028 and beyond.
