Tigers delist unlucky forward and former basketballer
Richmond has confirmed the delistings of Jacob Bauer and Mate Colina from their AFL list.
Bauer played 12 games for the Tigers after being taken in the 2022 Mid-Season Draft out of North Adelaide in the SANFL, but unfortunately tore his ACL in July while playing VFL football.
Colina never featured at the top level for the Tigers but played 14 times for the VFL side.
He joined the club originally in 2020 as a Category B rookie having crossed over from college basketball, with the 213cm ruck joining the list fully in 2022.
Richmond GM of Football Talent Blair Hartley wished the pair all the best in what lies ahead.
“Jacob worked incredibly hard to win his way onto an AFL list and gave his all throughout his time at Richmond,” Hartley said via a statement.
“This time of year is always difficult, particularly with the unfortunate timing of Jacob’s significant knee injury. We wish him all the best for the remainder of his recovery and future endeavours.
“Unfortunately for Mate, his body did not allow him to play as much football as he would have liked across his time at Richmond.
“He put his best foot forward and maintained a positive attitude despite his injury setbacks throughout his time here, and we wish him all the best for what is next.”
The pair’s delisting follows that of Kamdyn McIntosh, with the 213-gamer told earlier this month he wouldn’t be offered a contract for 2026.
