Essendon midfielder Darcy Parish will travel to the US in a bid to overcome the persistent calf injuries that ruined his season.
Parish is set for a specialist consultation where he’ll be analysed and reviewed with the help of American technology not available in Australia.
The Bombers are desperate to give the onballer the best chance to build continuity and consistency in his training before the start of pre-season training later this year.
The 2021 All Australian endured a horror 2025 campaign after being struck down by a back injury in December that saw him go outside the club for a follow-up procedure.
After missing the first 11 matches of the season with back and calf complaints, he returned for three games before being sidelined with another calf strain.
Parish’s persistent setbacks were part of a never-ending injury crisis at Essendon, with the massive casualty list resulting in the club blooding a record 15 debutants.
Some senior players lost faith in the high-performance team as the injuries and repeat injuries mounted.
It was announced in July that high performance boss Sean Murphy would be leaving the club. The Bombers are searching for his replacement.
