Essendon has made a pair of changes to its list, delisting an out-of-favour small forward duo.
Jye Menzie, 22, has been let go by the club having played 47 games in the red and black.
Selected in the 2022 mid-season draft, Menzie featured in a career-high 21 games in 2023, booting 23 goals from nine disposals a game.
Playing 14 in 2024 and 10 in 2025, Menzie leaves the club having kicked just nine goals this season, four of which came against the Demons in Round 5, while ending on a three-goal haul against the Blues in Round 24.
Father-son selection Alwyn Davey Jnr has also been let go by the club, failing to play in the senior side across 2025.
Playing 20 games since being selected at pick 45 in 2022, Davey Jnr couldn’t break into the AFL side despite their struggles with injury across the season.
He joins his twin brother Jayden, who was also delisted in 2024.
“This is a difficult day, as it always is when we have to inform players of these kinds of decisions,” General Manager of AFL Daniel McPherson said.
“Jye Menzie came to the club via the mid-season draft and worked tirelessly to earn his spot. He's a fantastic competitor and we're grateful for his contributions over the past few seasons."
"Alwyn Davey Jr. has been a valuable part of our program, carrying on the family legacy at Essendon. He's shown flashes of his brilliance at AFL and VFL level and we hope he can build on this as his football career continues.
"We thank both Jye and Alwyn for their contribution to the Essendon Football Club. They've been great teammates, and they leave the club with our best wishes.
These changes mark the second move the Bombers have made since season's end, having let go of veteran midfielder Dylan Shiel late last week.
