Trade talk: Demons star a "close watch" over potential exit
Melbourne star Christian Petracca remains one to watch as trade period approaches.
Off the back of his desired exit in 2024, Petracca endured a strong season with the Demons in ’25, fronting up to feature in 23 games and finish runner-up in the best and fairest.
However, as reported by 9News journalist and SEN regular Tom Morris on Monday morning, Norm Smith Medallist Petracca’s saga with the Demons could spark up once again, with both sides reporting openness to a potential shift over the 2025 off-season.

Citing that both Petracca and the club are ensuring respectful discussions, Morris reports that while despite being open to a move, the Demons star is far from his position in 2024, with the club continuing to value their under-contract star incredibly highly within the four walls.
Morris suggests that things are "delicately and cautiously" beginning to move.
A close watch as trade period rapidly approaches.
