BOBBY Hill’s tumultuous season has taken another unexpected turn, with the mercurial forward due in Tasmania tomorrow for a paid appearance event.
As Collingwood get set to face Adelaide in a huge qualifying final tonight, Hill is scheduled to appear at Hobart’s Albert Road Store tomorrow for two meet-and-greet sessions costing $100 a ticket.
The Norm Smith medallist missed Collingwood’s main training session on Tuesday, ruling him out of the clash with the Crows.
Hill has played only one half of senior football and one VFL game since Round 15 as he deals with personal issues.
He has asked coach Craig McRae to keep the door ajar on a late-season return.
McRae this week said Hill had been training “exceptionally well” and was still a chance to be brought into the Magpies side at some stage during the finals campaign.
“He won’t be available (for Thursday), he was never a chance to be available. We’re just getting some load into him,” McRae said.
“We’re rapt to have him back in our program and good to see him smiling again.”
