A rematch for the ages as Beterbiev and Bivol face off for light heavyweight title

Bitter rivals Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol are set for one of the most anticipated rematches in the light heavyweight division in what is being dubbed as the greatest boxing card ever assembled.
Beterbiev (21-0) and Bivol (23-1) headline a host of mouth-watering fights in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday morning where four world titles and three interim titles will be up for grabs.
The previous clash between Beterbiev and Bivol in October 2024 went the distance and saw both fighters trade blows across the 12 rounds. Beterbiev emerged victorious by majority decision with the 40-year-old claiming the last three rounds according to all three judges.
The decision was not without controversy as Bivol’s camp felt the 34-year-old Russian had done enough in the earlier rounds to clinch victory. Bivol had landed half of his power punch whilst his opponent only landed 29%. Beterbiev also trailed in total shots landed with 20.1% compared to Bivol’s 33.6%.
Beterbiev is favoured to retain his title but an upset is not off the cards with rumours of a third bout being inevitable if Bivol can square the ledger.
