WorldPlay launches $20 million perfect bracket challenge for World Cup
New free-to-play sports game platform gives Australians the chance to turn their football predictions into life-changing prizes at https://worldplay.com/
WorldPlay, a new free-to-play sports games platform, has launched in Australia with a $20 million perfect bracket and final score prize and a guaranteed $500,000 prize pool from the Round of 32 onwards.
From Friday June 19th, 2026, WorldPlay gives Australians a new way to play together around the world’s biggest sporting moments. The first edition is for World Cup and involves players predicting the winner of every knockout match and the final score from the Round of 32 and the score of final match.
Players can create their WorldPlay “bracket”, lock in their predictions and follow their progress on the national leaderboard as the tournament unfolds.
At the centre of the Australian launch is a $20 million perfect bracket and final score prize, awarded to any eligible Australian citizen or permanent resident player who correctly predicts every knockout match and accurately calls the final score of the World Cup Final. If more than one player achieves the feat, the prize will be shared equally.
WorldPlay will also award a guaranteed $500,000 prize pool across the top 50 players on the Australian national leaderboard, regardless of whether the perfect bracket prize is claimed. The winner of the points based leaderboard gets $250,000.
The game is free to enter and designed to be simple, social, and skill based. WorldPlay is built around predictions, football knowledge, strategy and the excitement of following a bracket through the knockout rounds. WorldPlay will start with World Cup but will launch as a platform for additional sports like NBA, NFL, AFL and NRL in the future.
Troy Benton, GM, WorldPlay, said the platform was created for fans who want to do more than watch major sporting events. “We are building a global sports community. Every major sports tournament, fans become instant experts. They debate the favourites, the upsets, the dark horses and who will lift the trophy. WorldPlay takes those conversations and turns them into a free-to-play game, with Australians competing for a chance at a life-changing $20 million prize.”
With this World Cup set to be the biggest in history, WorldPlay has been designed to capture the rivalry, debate and prediction culture that surrounds the tournament.
The platform takes only minutes to join. Players simply create an account, build their bracket, lock in their predictions and follow the action as points are awarded for correct selections. As the tournament progresses, points increase in value across each round, creating constant movement on the leaderboard and keeping every knockout match alive.
Australian prizes include:
• $20 million perfect bracket and final score prize
• $250,000 for 1st place on the leaderboard
• $65,000 for 2nd place
• $40,000 for 3rd place
• $25,000 for 4th place
• $15,000 for 5th place
• $7,000 each for 6th–10th place
• $3,000 each for 11th–25th place
• $1,000 each for 26th–50th place
Rob Fraser, Chief Operating Officer, Tabcorp, said our investment in WorldPlay reflects Tabcorp’s ambition to build new entertainment experiences.
“WorldPlay shows how we can use our sports, media and technology experience to build new fan experiences in new categories. It is free to play, simple to understand and designed to bring more Australians into the excitement of major sport.”
WorldPlay is expected to evolve beyond its first bracket-based edition, with future features in development including local leagues, friend groups, premium experiences and fantasy draft-style competitions.
Players can begin creating their brackets from Friday June 19, with all predictions required to be locked in before entries close at 3:30am AEST on Monday 29 June 2026 (90 minutes before the Round of 32 kickoff). Once entries close, brackets cannot be changed. Entries are limited to 1 per person, with a 500,000 cap on eligible entries.
Benton said Australian players should get their brackets in early. “The message to fans is simple: get your bracket in at least 90 minutes before the beginning of the Round of 32. Once the knockout stage starts, your bracket is locked and every match matters.
