Will “phenomenal” Patterson rejoin Test calculations after Australia A ton?

Former Test batter Kurtis Patterson is continuing his remarkable rise back up the cricketing ranks with another ton for Australia A in a touring match against the England Lions in Sydney.
After nearly walking away from cricket last season having lost his place in the NSW XI, Patterson’s form has remarkably turned around this campaign as he averages 105 this Shield season with one ton and four fifties from just six innings.
That form continued on Thursday in the first innings of the tour match as he made 137 from 231 balls batting at number three, causing Adam White and Chadd Sayers to ponder on SEN's Sportsday whether the 31-year-old is a chance to add to his two Tests if this form continues.
White: “There’s a tour game between Australia A and the England Lions, this game being played at Cricket Central.
“The big story is more runs to Kurtis Patterson, and he got 137.
“Now this is a guy that had fundamentally given the game away, he was captain of New South Wales, but lost all form, lost all love for the game and lost his spot in the team and looked like he was never going to come back.
“Then all of a sudden, in the space of about three or four months, we're seeing the Kurtis Patterson that was good enough to play for Australia.”
Sayers: “That innings against Sri Lanka in Canberra showed how good a player he was and where he could end up.
“To see his downfall was a shame because we all know how good a player he is. He's a class player as most left-handers are.
“But the turnaround and his comeback has been phenomenal. The way he's batting in Shield cricket and in this Australia A side, his name is definitely going to be up in lights again.”
Patterson’s two Tests came against Sri Lanka in 2019 where he made 144 overall runs from two innings including a score of 114 not out.
