Wednesday best bets from Luke & Pfitzner (15/10)
Miles Pfitzner & Cam Luke have your Wednesday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Caulfield, Warwick Farm & Ascot in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Cam Luke
CAULFIELD
Race 2 | 3. Regal Award
Missed the kick, had no room and needed the whip in left hand last start. If he jumps well, he can have control of this race. Looks like a miler and the track will help him find his groove on pace. In form jockey goes on board and we’ll know once the gates open if he will figure in the finish. Fingers crossed he jumps well because he will be the one to beat! Centu Cavaddi is the danger, same race, 1600m looks suited as well. I think those two will fight this out but I’m with Regal Award who can dictate.
Race 3 | 16. Thebelmontgangster
Was great in Aussie debut beating a horse who as we know was very unlucky in the Caulfield Guineas on Saturday. The gate is a little tricky but not a huge amount of speed underneath so Luke Currie should be able to squeeze forward and allow this horse to find rhythm and hopefully a good spot in front or outside leader. 2nd up winner and the distance is no issue. I expect him to improve out of that 1sr up win and be very hard to hold out!
Race 5 | 14. Just Like Gaby
Won well resuming and that race has most certainly held up when it comes to form with multiple winners winning since. Drawn perfectly and weighted well and she won’t go back as far this start as that was barrier directed. Firm desk suits her and second up form is solid. Steps up in distance and grade but looks to have come back well and will take a mountain of beating.
DOOMBEN
Race 1 | 2. Farnesina & 6. Moon Jewel
I’m going to have a little play on Farnesona who looked like it was about to run on in debut before no room stopped momentum. Can stalk speed and is a great each way play! Not sure of my exact bet yet but I dare say a same race multi at a minimum is the go!
I thought the first prep wasn’t too bad for Moon Jewel in particular in a really good race here at Doomben. Has trialed up really well, is drawn perfectly to stalk the speed and McMurray takes 3 kg off the back. The horse is here to win and think will do exactly that!
Race 4 | 3. Ichiban
Third up to the 2050m should have this bloke ready to fire in a race that lacks depth. Was decent last start over 1800m and hit the line like he needed this! Won’t go around a horse until has to and the claim is a big plus. Always runs well here and conditions should be perfect. If it does firm up I’d expect Wowzino to drift. Has been in form but they were easier than this although not by a huge amount.
Race 5 | 6. Desiah (each-way)
Was pretty good at Eagle Farm last start in a smidge tougher race! Stays pretty much same distance and will able to watch the race unfold. Speed will help from Big Ticket Boy and Kind Wish. Closer to good track helps and without being a star will give a sight in the straight and double figures is a great each way play!!

CAULFIELD
Race 2 | 3. Regal Award
Thought would open a lot shorter than the $4.20 so hit while we could. We were on for the maiden win and the navy pilot cash form should hold up in a race like this.
WARWICK FARM
Race 6 | 4. Jellicious
Another one, sensing a theme here! That we have backed before. An old fave. Going for three on the bounce here for the new camp. Ability!!
ASCOT
Race 4 | 8. Elite Beau
Last of how we play Wednesday. This horse has done a fair bit. Bolted in maiden and then went to the Perth stakes as a $2.80 pop. Trials well. Make sure you get on at the open. Will get smashed.
