NRL young gun Luke Laulilii has left the Wests Tigers to join the NZ Warriors for the remainder of the 2026 season.
The 20-year-old signed a short-term contract that will see him move to Auckland before he joins the new Perth Bears club in 2027.Â
Andrew McFadden, Warriors general manager of recruitment, pathways and development, calls Laulilii a valuable signing.
“Luke is a great addition to our squad for the rest of the season," he explained.
“He’ll provide plenty of value and boost our depth in the outside backs."
The Campelltown-born winger has proven to be an asset already in first grade, scoring 10 tries from 17 matches in his two-year NRL career, including six this season along with 28 tackle breaks while averaging 175 run metres per game.
In a statement, the Warriors labelled him ‘one of the Wests Tigers’ most impressive performers’ when they won at Go Media Stadium 32-14 back in round five.
He is not the only player to move before the mid-year deadline, with the Warriors also signing Riley Price on a two-year deal from the Penrith Panthers.
Laulilii's debut for his new club is yet to be confirmed, however the Warriors will play the Tigers on July 10 following this week's bye round.
