The New Zealand Warriors have announced the signing of 25-year-old Riley Price, son of Warrior No. 121 Steve Price.
The three-game NRL forward will join the club on a midseason transfer from Redcliffe, starting on a development contract for the remainder of 2026 before stepping up to first grade in 2027.
Price was three-years-old when he moved to Auckland from Australia while his father captained the Warriors club in 2005.
He becomes the fourth son of a former Warrior at the club this year, following in the footsteps of Jett Cleary, Haizyn Mellars and Braelan Marsh - all of which will play in the NSW Cup team together.
Warriors general manager recruitment, pathways and development Andrew McFadden said in a statement, "It’s exciting for us having Riley back at the club he knows so well from his time living in Auckland when his father was here."
“Riley has tasted NRL football and gained a lot of experience playing in the Queensland Cup and New South Wales Cup. He has terrific footballing pedigree through his father and will bring a lot to our squad with his professional attitude and work ethic.
“It’s also a thrill seeing the next generation coming through with yet another son of one of our former players joining the club.”
After attending Mount Albert Grammar in Auckland and playing for the Mount Albert Lions, Price returned to Australia at 15.
He made his NRL debut with the North Queensland Cowboys in 2023 before signing with Penrith in 2024, playing his sole first-grade game last year before signing with Redcliffe in 2026.
