VFL's Round 6 has wrapped up, with a number of AFL listed talent putting their names in the mix for senior selection.
Brayden Fiorini has been on a tear in the VFL.
Once again, the Sun has dominated, securing a mind-boggling 47 disposals, 11 tackles, 10 marks, eight clearances and three goals in the Suns’ two-point loss to Brisbane.
In his last four contests in the VFL, Fiorini has averaged over 42 disposals and eight tackles, kicking eight goals over the remarkable run of form.
Brisbane’s Keidean Coleman made his long-awaited return to football, barely missing a beat with 28 disposals and two clearances after more than 12 months on the sidelines with an ACL rupture.
Essendon’s fourth-choice ruckman Vigo Visentini continued to show signs of strong development in the VFL, comfortably winning the ruck battle against North Melbourne’s Brynn Teakle and Taylor Goad despite the Bombers’ 10-point loss.
Visentini finished the clash with 16 disposals, 45 hit outs and a goal in the contest, while teammate Zak Johnson impressed yet again with a solid 25 touches. North Melbourne’s Zac Fisher returned from a hamstring issue to find 28 disposals, while Wil Dawson booted three goals.
The Bulldogs’ Caleb Poulter was a stand-out in the Dogs’ 72-point thrashing over Collingwood, collecting 26 disposals and three goals in the side’s commanding win.
Harvey Gallagher amassed 28 and two goals, while Oskar Baker was also strong with 26.
The Tigers have leaped into fifth place following a 25-point win over the Box Hill Hawks. Kane McAuliffe (23 disposals, 11 tackles, two goals) and Kaleb Smith (31 disposals) led the contest for Richmond, while Ned Reeves was strong all day for the Hawks with 20 disposals, 38 hit outs and seven clearances.
Carlton’s Mark Pittonet also put on a solid performance for the Blues, with 16 disposals, nine clearances, eight tackles and 34 hit outs in Carlton’s 22-point loss to Coburg. Jaxon Binns was also good on the day with 28 and a goal.
