VFL Round 15: Key Hawks dominate, Giant's successful return
VFL's Round 15 has wrapped up, with a number of AFL listed talent putting their names in the mix for senior selection.

The Footscray Bulldogs fought off the charging Kangaroos, claiming a 16-point win to remain in second place.
Anthony Scott was the clear standout in the win, collecting 37 disposals, 10 clearances, six tackles and a goal, while mid-season draftee Michael Sellwood managed 28 and seven tackles as he pushes for an AFL debut.
North Melbourne’s Geordie Payne kept the pressure on all day, amounting 17 tackles to go with his two goals, while Jackson Archer went down with a concerning ankle injury early in the contest.
The Lions fell by five goals to third-placed Southport, dominating the midfield and field position but failing to contain the Sharks in their defensive half.
Young Lion James Tunstill was electric with 34 disposals, seven clearances and two goals in a bit to return to the senior side, while Deven Robertson was crucial in the middle with 24 touches and eight clearances.
The GWS Giants held their place in the top four, picking up a 19-point win over the reigning premiers Werribee.
Following his omission from the senior team, ruckman Nicholas Madden excelled with 23 disposals, 49 hit outs, nine clearances and seven tackles.
Jacob Wehr also stuffed the stat shit with 27 disposals, nine tackles, eight clearances and two goals, while Stephen Coniglio made a successful return to football with 25 disposals and six tackles in the win.
The Northern Bullants claimed their first win of the season in dramatic fashion, as a disastrous Swans second half saw them fall by seven points.
While Ben Paton (34 disposals, 10 marks, one goal), Peter Ladhams (29 disposals, 27 hit outs, 11 clearances) and Corey Warner (33 disposals, one goal) can hold their heads high, however a goalless second half leaves the Swans just one game ahead of the bottom side.
The Gold Coast Suns charged down a near five-goal early deficit to run out as 14-point winners over the Bombers.
Despite their glut of young talent, it was veteran David Swallow leading the line for the Suns. 30 disposals, eight tackles and a goal, Swallow was crucial in bringing the Suns back from the death, while Jy Farrar’s four goals – three in the first half – was their driving factor in the front half.
Elijah Tsatas carried on his strong VFL form with 35 disposals and 14 clearances, Vigo Visentini impressed with 16 touches and 48 hit outs, while Liam McMahon took one of the marks of the year en route to his two goals.
Carlton have leaped into the top 10, claiming a hearty four-point win over the old enemy in Collingwood.
Wingman Jaxon Binns was in fine form across the afternoon, leading all-comers with 29 disposals and a goal, while twins Ben (27 disposals, eight clearances) and Lucas Camporeale (23 disposals, nine marks) continue to impress.
Harry DeMattia keeps his name in AFL contention with 28 and a goal.
The Tigers charged down the Cats late on, as a nine-goal to four second half saw Richmond claim a last-gasp winner over Geelong.
Richmond’s exciting young core continued to excel, as Taj Hotton (23 disposals, seven tackles, one goal), Kaleb Smith (24 disposals, eight marks), and Steely Green (12 disposals, three goals) all performed beyond their years.
Josh Gibcus got through a successful return to the side, however Jacob Bauer went down with a suspected ACL injury.
Jayden Short was huge with 24 kicks at elite efficiency, while VFL listed Harry Scott kicked this game-winning goal at the death.
For Geelong, Ted Clohesy was sharp with 34 touches and 10 tackles, while key forward Jay Polkinghorne kicked four.
The Box Hill Hawks cruised home against Sandringham, remaining firmly atop the VFL ladder with a 44-point win.
The contest was an exhibition of key forward talent, with Calsher Dear and Mitch Lewis putting on a show in the forward half.
Dear finished with 20 disposals, six tackles and three goals from six scoring shots, while Lewis amounted 17 disposals, taking eight marks and kicking three goals from five scoring shots – a clinic from a future Hawthorn forward half duo.
Jack Carroll was strong for the Zebras, while Paddy Dow (23 disposals, seven clearances) continues to build off the back of his extended absence with injury.
