VFL Round 10: Mitchell dominates, former Eagle bags 13

VFL's Round 10 has wrapped up, with a number of AFL listed talent putting their names in the mix for senior selection.
Brisbane and Essendon opened Round 10 on Friday afternoon, with the Lions claiming a 20-point victory.
Young gun Will McLachlan was electric in attack, booting five goals from his 19 disposals, while Deven Robinson and James Tunstill combined for 58 disposals, 13 clearances and 11 tackles in the engine room.
Reserve Bomber ruckman Vigo Visentini has continued his strong form, dominating in the centre with 20 disposals and 58 hit outs, while Dylan Shiel’s 32 and 11 clearances leaves him in good stead for a return to AFL.
Darcy Parish continues to rack up solid game time, with 21 touches and seven tackles, while mid-season recruits Oskar Smartt (12 disposals, six contested) and Liam McMahon (10 disposals, two goals) were strong on debut.
Gold Coast also debuted their two mid-season selections within their 88-point loss to Coburg.
Key defender Oscar Adams performed well in a back half under siege, collecting 14 disposals and nine marks with seven intercept possessions, while forward Caleb Lewis booted two goals.
Judson Clarke heavily impressed for the Tigers as Richmond’s VFL unit took down the Giants by two goals.
Managing 27 disposals, eight intercept possessions and two goals, Clarke certainly put his name up for senior selection, while Maurice Rioli Jnr (25 disposals, eight tackles, two goals) also put on a show for the yellow and black.
Mykelti Lefau continues to rack up strong game time as he pushes for a return to senior footy, collecting 11 disposals in the front half.
Giant trio James Leake (34 disposals, six tackles, six clearances), Harry Rowston (28 disposals, eight tackles, six clearances, two goals) and Conor Stone (25 disposals, one goal) all played well despite the loss.
Demon Matthew Jefferson put on a show for Casey, booting five goals to lead his side to a 94-point demolition over the Swans.
Jack Billings impressed with 32 disposals, while Jacob Van Rooyen (17 disposals, eight marks and two goals) made the most of Casey’s dominance.
Jai Culley, Koltyn Tholstrup and Blake Howes also played important roles for the Demons, while young Swan Jesse Dattoli booted three.
Collingwood VFL have knocked Box Hill off the top spot, claiming victory by 17 points led by Brownlow Medallist Tom Mitchell.
Returning to full match fitness, Mitchell looked back in top form for the Pies, stuffing the stat sheet with 29 disposals (14 contested), nine tackles, nine clearances and a goal.
Both of Collingwood’s mid-season recruits took to the field, with Roan Steele’s 24 disposals and eight intercepts displaying his talent, while Noah Howes managed just the seven touches.
Hawks youngster Henry Hustwaite will be back in the mix for selection, collecting 32 disposals (14 contested), five clearances and five tackles, while Seamus Mitchell played his best game at VFL level, amassing 35 touches, 12 marks, 11 intercepts and a goal.
Despite Sandringham’s six-goal loss to Frankston, Harry Boyd and Hugo Garcia certainly impressed within the Zebra’s midfield.
Boyd was dominant in the ruck, winning 69 hit outs to go with 18 disposals (17 contested), six score involvements, five tackles and a goal, while Garcia’s 35 disposals (20 contested), 12 tackles, 11 clearances and one goal will see the youngster right back in the mix for Ross Lyon’s side.
Geelong’s George Stevens played well for the cats, collecting 25 disposals and seven clearances, alongside 22 disposals from recruit Jack Martin in the side’s 26-point loss to Williamstown.
Although not AFL listed, former Docker and Eagle forward Hugh Dixon deserves a shoutout, collecting 26 disposals, 15 marks and a ridiculous 13 goals in Southport's 103-point win over the Bullants.
Other strong performances include Sydney’s Oliver Florent (22 disposals, seven clearances, seven tackles, Magpie Harry DeMattia (25 disposals, five tackles, one goal) and Hawthorn’s Sam Butler (29 disposals, 11 tackles).
