New Zealand Supercross star Cole Davies was blown away by the support of a home crowd after returning to race in front of Kiwi fans for the first time in four years at North Harbour Stadium last week.
The 19-year-old from Waitoki said the reception he received from 20,000 fans was an experience he would not forget.
“I haven't really been home in probably around four years for a race so to come back and see the support I'm getting now is unreal,” he told The Rural Roundup.
“I went out for opening ceremonies and they kind of erupted when I went out, so it was definitely was a cool feeling.”

Davies has had a remarkable 2026 campaign in the United States, claiming eight Supercross main event wins and four Motocross main event wins to become the 2026 AMA Supercross 250cc champion and AMA Motocross champion.
“That's what I kind of expect of myself,” he explained, “I set pretty high expectations for myself.
“When I go out there and accomplish these things, it just kind of lets me sleep at night.”
However, Davies is still not content.
“I work so hard to go achieve these and I kind of just set out to try to achieve and I feel like this is only the beginning too, I have plenty more ahead of me, I feel like.
“I'm just gonna strive for more.”

His immediate focus is on a strong off-season as he targets an even bigger achievement in 2027, with the goal of securing all three championships.
“I'm going to try to have a really good off-season this season, try to get all three championships next year.
“I was only able to get two this year and then unfortunately had a crash and a bike problem that led me out of the championship.”

Davies already has his sights set on a move into the premier 450cc class in 2028.
“Then after that, I'm gonna try also have another good off season and then move up to the 450 class for ‘28.
“It's a pretty big step going to the 450cc class, but I feel like my technique and the way I kind of look at things, I feel like I'm in a good spot to go achieve in the 450cc class.”
