Titans aim to keep winning streak alive against desperate Warriors

The Gold Coast Titans are heading into this weekend’s clash against the New Zealand Warriors on the back of two strong wins, only hoping to continue their NRL ladder climb.
After beating the Dragons and Knights, as well as claiming a memorable victory over the Panthers in Round 16 through a Zane Harrison field goal, the 13th-placed Titans have found momentum despite their top-eight hopes appearing slim.
New Zealand-born second-rower Arama Hau has admitted the recent wins feel encouraging, but he knows it will mean little if his side cannot beat the third placed Warriors.
“Obviously going alright at the moment," he told Sport Nation's Millsy & Guy.
"A couple of wins on the trot but it means nothing if we don't get the job done this weekend, so it will be a good game.”

The 21-year-old said the Titans are expecting a fired-up Warriors outfit, with New Zealand desperate to bounce back after last week’s loss to the Bulldogs and hold onto their top-four position.
“Obviously, Wahs are coming off a loss, and I'm sure they’ll be quite motivated to get after us, so looking forward to the battle.
“We know they're a quality team and they're probably going to go a bit harder, which is probably what we want. We want the best of them, so there's no real excuse.”
While the Warriors are fighting to keep their premiership hopes alive, the Titans are focused on turning recent momentum into more results.
“We're really keen to just go after it and get a couple more wins.”
He believes Saturday's contest will likely be decided through the middle, where the Titans will need to match the Warriors’ physicality.

“There'll be a good battle in the middle, I think. I think that's where the game will be won, through the ruck.”
Although wary of the impact the Warriors’ middle and edge forwards can have, Hau is confident the Titans have the fitness and strike power to trouble the Warriors if they can stay patient and go set for set.
“I think if we can just get in the grind, play that set-for-set footy. We're quite a fit team.
“We've got a lot of freaks in our team who can break the game open whenever we need them to.”
Hau who has pledged his allegiance to the Kiwis, believes there is plenty of growth still to come from the Gold Coast, pointing to the youth of the squad and the way players are learning from each other.
“We're quite a young team. I think our averaging age is about 22 or something around that.
“The more reps we get in with each other and learning off each other and just I think being a sponge to everyone.”
He said senior figures such as Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and Moeaki Fotuaika have helped foster an environment where even the leaders continue to ask questions and grow alongside the younger players.
“I still hear Tino and Mo asking questions to each other or even asking us younger boys on what they need from us as leaders so I think if we can just keep this group together which is something we've had a chat about, I think we can build something really special here.”
