The best of the day at Caulfield and Eagle Farm from Nic Ashman

Form analyst Nic Ashman has provided his best bet at Caulfield Heath on Saturday.
The Beaten Favourite’s Ashman is siding with Grahame Begg’s Miraval Rose in the Magic Millions VIC 3&4YO Classic over 1200m.
“I want to take you to Race 6 and I think this is the best of the day,” Ashman said on SENTrack’s Giddy Up.
“Miss Altair who is going really well, she is coming out of a couple of wins at Pakenham and then Moonee Valley.
“She does drop from 59kg to 54kg, but I like Miraval Rose for Grahame Begg. His horses are going really good at present.
“She was great, she had a SP of $3.70 against Kin and Pharari who are both pretty good horses. She’ll improve second-up, I know she hasn’t won second-up before, but go and have a look at her second-up run last campaign. It was in a pretty good race in Queensland against Amur.
“She’s an above average mare and I think she’ll win on Saturday.”
Miraval Rose, who will be ridden by Saffie Osborne, is currently the $2.80 equal favourite with Sportsbet for Race 6 at Caulfield on Saturday.
Ashman also likes one at Eagle Farm in the Grand Prix Stakes over 1800m.
Chris Waller’s Bluepinot is the horse in question and Ashman is keen after his last-start maiden win at Doomben.
“If you win this race you’re an automatic qualification for the Queensland Derby,” Ashman said.
“It is a race that Chris Waller has targeted previously. He’s got a horse called Bluepinot in the event.
“This horse was pretty good at Doomben last time out, ran the fifth fastest last 200m of the meeting. Started at $1.65 an won on a Heavy track.
“I don’t know if he needs a Heavy to show his best. He’s going to need some luck from barrier 15 to get in at some point.
“I just think at the price he’s probably an each-way play in that race.”
Bluepinot is currently priced at $4.80 for Race 7 behind favourite Moon Sweeper at $3.30. The Waller-trained colt will be ridden by Andrew Mallyon.
