The 25/26 Launceston Night Racing season has arrived with an eight-race card on Friday.
It’s the first meeting in a long night season that stretches through to April 2026.
The rail is in the true position, and I’d expect the surface to be in the 4-5 range.

Race 7 – 6. Lovin’ Bev
The return to Launceston is a big positive for Lovin’ Bev, whose frontrunning style is ideally suited to the track. She was first past the post in Devonport last start but was stripped of the race on protest. Chris Pang sticks with her here, and his 2kg claim will be handy, getting 3.5kg off her main threat in Sh’bourne Midnight. If she’s rated well in front, I think Lovin’ Bev will add to her outstanding Launceston record.

Race 3 – 4. Celtic Rose
Celtic Rose resumes with a pair of trial wins under her belt, and I was impressed with both. She’s placed in all four runs in Launceston, and she’s drawn to advantage in barrier 3. I’ve marked her as the clear favourite, and at the time of writing, there are a couple of horses shorter than her in the market.

Race 2 – 4. Striding Bay
Striding Bay is a big price in the second, and I’m keen to have something on E/W. He worked to the line solidly on debut back in July, and then off a freshen, he was restrained from a wide draw in Devonport and found nothing but dead ends trying to work through the field. I think he has enough gate speed to hold a position here from an ideal draw, and we’ll learn a bit more about his ability if there aren’t any excuses.
