Sports fans choose SEN 1170am in growing numbers
Sydney’s SEN 1170am has had another strong showing in GfK Radio 360’s Survey 4 results, released today.
Overall, the station recorded an increased total audience share (10+) of 1.9% (up from 1.5%), and a total cumulative audience of 167,000*, with gains across the breakfast, mornings and afternoons timeslots.
Breakfast with Jimmy and Brandy (with Jimmy Smith and Greg ‘Brandy’ Alexander, heard Monday to Thursday) and Breakfast with Jimmy and Chad (with Jimmy Smith and Chad Townsend, heard on Fridays) is up to a 2.3% audience share (from 1.6%)**.
Meanwhile, The Front Office (with Andrew Voss, Monday to Wednesday) and Vossy’s Verdict (Thursdays) recorded a 2.2% audience share (up from 1.6%)***.
Buoyed by the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Arvos with Adam Peacock recorded a 2.4% audience share (up from 1.8%)^, whilst The Run Home with Joel and Fletch (with Joel Caine, Bryan Fletcher, Justin Horo and Chad Townsend) recorded a 2.3% audience share^^, Sportsday (with Jarrod Croker and Mat Rogers) recorded a 1.4% audience share^^^, and Morning Glory with Matty Johns recorded a 1.6% audience share#.
The period’s success comes off the back of SEN League’s four NRL call each and every weekend - plus the ongoing partnership with Fox League and Kayo Sports - another blockbuster State of Origin series, as well as a captivating broadcast of the FIFA World Cup.
The debut of Bunnings Tradio on DAB+ also resonated well with the SEN’s Sydney-based listeners, with the program recording a cumulative audience of 79,250 nation wide for the survey period##.
The latest figures also show total streams across SEN's app and web platforms in New South Wales having increased by 62 per cent year-on-year (YoY), highlighting the growing appetite for SEN content whenever and wherever fans choose to listen.
In NSW, SEN also recorded exceptional growth across its social platforms, with social video views soaring 221 per cent YoY and social impressions increasing 86 per cent. Social followers grew by 40 per cent over the same period.
Across the Survey 4 period, SEN in NSW reached:
  • 324,000 web and app users (+8% YoY)
  • 1.1 million total streams (+62% YoY)
  • 31.3 million total minutes streamed (+7% YoY)
  • 17.7 million social video views (+221% YoY)
  • 28.7 million social impressions (+86% YoY)
  • 229,000 social followers (+40% YoY)
  • 2.2 million app screen views (+22% YoY)
  • 1.4 million podcast downloads (+8% YoY)
SEN Chief Executive, Craig Hutchison, said that off the back of the network’s NRL, Origin and FIFA World Cup coverage in particular, New South Wales-based sports fans were becoming increasingly engaged with SEN’s whole of sport strategy.
"These results are a strong endorsement of our whole-of-sport strategy and the momentum we're continuing to build across Sydney and New South Wales," Hutchison said.
"We're seeing growth across both radio and digital platforms, with audiences responding to our strong line-up of talent and programming, from Breakfast and The Front Office through to our NRL coverage, 2026 FIFA World Cup broadcasts and daily sports content.
"The success of SEN League, another blockbuster State of Origin series, our partnerships with Fox League and Kayo Sports, and the audience response to our FIFA World Cup coverage have reinforced SEN's position as a destination for passionate sports fans seeking the best coverage and analysis across the biggest events.
"We're particularly encouraged by the growth we're seeing across our digital ecosystem. Streaming in New South Wales increased by 62 per cent year-on-year, while social video views, impressions, podcast downloads and audience engagement all continued to grow strongly, demonstrating that more fans are choosing to consume SEN content wherever and whenever it suits them.
