Parker: Has Bostock been thrown to the wolves?
With Jack Bostock set to make his Origin debut for NSW, Corey Parker has expressed concern as to whether he’ll be able to handle the occasion.
Following their Game II defeat at the MCG, Blues coach Laurie Daley has once again swung the selection axe, with six changes being made ahead of the deciding Game III against Queensland at Suncorp Stadium.
One of those changes was Bostock.
After being a late call-up for NSW’s 20-man squad in Game II after Casey McLean strained his thigh during training but was unused, the Dolphins back has been selected to start in the decider over Brian To’o on the wing.
While the 22-year-old does have experience playing wing, he has spent this season starting in the centres, leaving Parker concerned as to whether he’ll be able to live up to the pressure of a decider on enemy territory.
“A stack of Blues playing for their future in a blue jersey,” Parker explained on SENQ Breakfast.
“Jack Bostock, what does he look like when he goes into the cauldron on debut?
“Has he been thrown to the wolves? He’s been playing in the centres for the Dolphins, been going extremely well, super talented young player, but now he's in the cauldron.
“What does that look like for him?”
Game III takes place on Wednesday (tomorrow) with kick-off taking place at 8:05pm AEST.
SEN will be providing extensive coverage of the match with THREE different live calls with biased Maroons and Blues Radio alongside a neutral Origin LIVE commentary.
Those can be heard across our national radio network alongside the SEN app.
