"He won't let anyone down": Cordner defends Radley selection

NSW assistant coach Boyd Cordner has backed his former Roosters' teammate, Victor Radley of making an impact for the Blues should he be called upon.
With NSW keen to regain the Shield, coach Laurie Daley has swung the selection axe with seven changes from last year’s Game III squad.
One of the new faces entering the camp is Radley, who has only played five games this season following his ten-game (reduced to nine) suspension rolling over from last year.
Having made several NSW squads during his career but never played, the Roosters’ star was ineligible to play following his switch to represent England in 2022.
But with the NRL’s new eligibility rules for the series allowing those who play for Tier One nations (New Zealand and England) to feature so long as they meet the previous criteria, Radley is once again in line for selection.
And should he make his Origin debut next Wednesday, Cordner believes he is more than capable of making an impact.
“If anyone typifies what it is to be (a) State of Origin (player), it is Vic,” Cordner explained on SEN’s Kick Off.
“He's put his hand up for England and wanted to represent his dad there, but I know how much he loves his state.
“If you boys have had anything to do with him, you'd know the same.
“And the style of play, if there's anyone suited for Origin football, it's Vic.
“I'm super glad that he gets an opportunity to go out and represent his state.
“We're all confident and excited to see him and know that he won't let anyone down.”
State of Origin gets underway on May 27 at Accor Stadium.
SEN will have live coverage of the match across our radio network and on the SEN app.
