Souths pull off remarkable win as Mitchell shines on return
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are on a roll under supercoach Wayne Bennett having now won four out of their five games which sees them currently within the top four.
Last night, Souths managed a 20-14 win against their rivals in the Sydney Roosters at Accor Stadium.
Their win was remarkable considering the fact that Jamie Humphries, Cody Walker and Mikaele Ravalawa all picked up hamstring injuries which ended their game early and required Souths to use their bench.
Much was spoken about the return of Latrell Mitchell throughout the week as he played his first game for the year after sustaining a hamstring injury during pre-season.
His inclusion would help provide a point of difference for the Bunnies as he converted all three of South Sydney’s tries and amassed 568 kicking meters for the game.
Speaking in the post-game press conference, Bennett gave praise to Mitchell's performance in his standard nonchalant fashion.
“Well, he had to do something,” Bennett chuckled.
“We only had 11 out there.
“But he was good."

South Sydney will play against the North Queensland Cowboys next Saturday afternoon who are coming off an upset win over Penrith last night.
This will take place in Perth at Optus Stadium.
